Weber Shandwick is providing pro bono support for Living on One, the Creative Visions Foundation vehicle, which aims to tackle extreme poverty though development of microfinance programs.
The Interpublic unit is supporting the college tour of the “Living on One” documentary about the summer spent by four U.S. sophomores who survived on a dollar-a-day in Guatemala.
The film seeks to generate awareness about the plight of the world’s 1.1B poor and how effective microfinance projects can improve their lot.
The tour kicked off in September at a Whole Foods, a Living on One sponsor, store in Austin. Documentary screenings are slated through the rest of the year at stops in New York, Washington, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle and Minneapolis.
Weber Shandwick works those markets for Living on One and helps drive social media engagement to encourage young people to get involved in the set-up ofmicrofinance loan programs.
