Initiate-it, a Richmond, VA agency that creates digital and social media campaigns for national and international franchisors, has brought on Darren Foot as a partner and chief marketing officer. Foot comes to initiate-it from Winston-Salem, NC-based marketing and advertising firm The Variable, where he was director of account management. He has also served as senior vice president, account leadership at The Martin Agency and senior vice president, marketing at Digitas. He has worked with such consumer and corporate brands as Oreo, Subway, Tic-Tac, Chevrolet, Bank of America, Harley-Davidson and British Airways. At initiate-it, he will work to elevate the agency’s digital performance and business leadership offering.

Berks County, PA has recruited Stephanie Weaver to serve as its first public relations officer, effective June 24. Weaver was most recently communications manager for the Berks County Bar Association. Before that, she was a reporter for the Reading Eagle for seven years. In her new position, Weaver will help lead the county’s internal and external communications, providing information to employees and the public about county services, events and procedures. “Stephanie will fulfill a valuable role to ensure our residents are aware of the latest developments as we continue our efforts to safely reopen Berks County,” said Berks County Commissioner Christian Y. Leinbach.

Crosby Marketing Communications has hired Danielle Fox as a social media manager and Sydney Brown as a digital designer. Both will support Crosby’s work for the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services’ Office of the Assistant Secretary for Public Affairs. Fox was most recently a marketing & communications specialist at the University of Florida Lastinger Center, an education innovation hub. She previously worked at Prosperity Now, a national nonprofit based in Washington, D.C., dedicated to expanding economic opportunities for low-income families and communities. In her new position, Fox creates content, manages analytics and drives audience growth and engagement for ASPA’s social channels. Brown was most recently at Fannie Mae and the Washington, D.C., office of MSL. At Crosby, she develops content to support ASPA’s creative and social media needs, including infographics, video and animations.
